BART service restored after downed power lines

BART was still using buses to transport passengers between the stations while service was restored. Riders on the Dublin/Pleasanton and Fremont lines are advised to expect 45-minute delays.

A private company working near the San Leandro station somehow knocked down a power line that normally hangs above the tracks, causing the line to fall onto the tracks, Johnson said.

The company reported the incident at about 1 p.m., but not before a train ran into the wire, Johnson said. The train had to be taken out of service but no one was injured.

BART requested eight AC Transit buses, which were used to shuttle passengers between the Coliseum/Oakland airport and San Leandro stations.
