The bicyclist, a 56-year-old man, was struck by a black or dark-colored Toyota Camry at 5:42 a.m. on Aug. 8 while he was riding south in the bike lane on Fremont Boulevard south of Old Warm Springs Boulevard, according to police.
He suffered injuries including major head trauma, broken ribs and several abrasions, and remains unconscious and in critical condition.
The Camry, a four-door model dated between 1992 and 1996, was last seen traveling south on Fremont Boulevard and has not yet been located.
Police said the vehicle probably has damage to the right front bumper area.
