Uber president resigns after 6 months on job

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Just hours after Uber's president resigned on Sunday, its vice president of mapping also announced plans to resign.

The New York Times reports Brian McClendon will leave his position on March 28, but will stay on as an advisor to the company.

McClendon's move comes just after we learned Jeff Jones is stepping down as president.

He's only been with Uber for six months.

Jones' decision comes after a series of problems within the company. That includes company CEO Travis Kalanick caught on camera yelling at one of his own drivers over Uber lowering its rates.

Kalanick apologized and promised to get leadership help.

An email to employees says Jones did not see a future at Uber after Kalanick announced he is searching for a new chief operating officer.

Uber released this brief statement to ABC7 News: "We want to thank Jeff for his six months at the company and wish him all the best."
