PHOTOS: Alameda County uses 'canstructions' to fight hungerBRIDGING THE GAP TO END HUNGER: The Alameda County Assessor's Office worked together to collect 164.19 pounds of canned and boxed goods to build this bridge.
Some friendly competition between Alameda County departments helped raise 8 tons of food and $8,000 in cash donations! Proceeds went towards the Alameda County Community Food Bank.

BRIDGING THE GAP TO END HUNGER: The Alameda County Assessor's Office worked together to collect 164.19 pounds of canned and boxed goods to build this bridge.

THE GIVING TREE: The Auditor-Controller Agency has brought a childhood story of reciprocal giving to life. The display has 1,120 pounds of food.

HISTORIC MEEK ESTATE MANSION: This display was made from 815.13 pounds of food.
"Drive Out Hunger"
DRIVE OUT HUNGER: Mobile food pantry truck illustrates Alameda County's ongoing commitment to help end hunger. This display was made from 550 pounds of food.
"Tackling Hunger"
OCC TACKLES HUNGER: Office of the County Counsel built the Coliseum and a giant football out of cans. This display was made from 806.25 pounds of food.
"Rene C. Davidson Courthouse"
RENE C. DAVIDSON COURTHOUSE: The District Attorney's Office built the Rene C. Davidson Courthouse. This display was made from over 1300 pounds of food .
"Kingdom of Can-A-Lot and the Knights of the Full Table"
KINGDOM OF CAN-A-LOT: The City of Pleasanton built a castle. This display was made from over 564 pounds of food .
"Dia De Los Muertos"
DIA DE LOS MUERTOS : This display made by General Services Agency was made from over 2,681 pounds of food.
"Driving Out Hunger"
DRIVING OUT HUNGER : This display was built with 910 lbs. of food pounds of food.
"Wall-E"
WALL-E: Wall-E's creativity for building structures out of cans represents a fun way in dealing with a serious issue. Structure made from 2222.50 lbs.
"Self-Checkout Machine"
SELF-CHECKOUT MACHINE: This display was made from 280.50 pounds of non-perishable goods.
"If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one." - Mother Theresa
MOTHER THERESA: If you can't feed one hundred people, then feed just one. The Public Works Agency of Alameda County created this display with over 1,500 pounds of food.
"Standing Firm Against hunger" - recreation of the Port of Oakland
STANDING FIRM AGAINST HUNGER: The Alameda County Registrar of Voters recreated the Port of Oakland with 556 pounds of food donations.

suspENDING HUNGER: The display consists of canned and boxed goods totaling 639 pounds.
