Luigi's Flying Tires to close at Disney's Cars Land

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Disney announced on Friday that Luigi's Flying Tires at Disney California Adventure's Cars Land will close on Feb. 16.

"Luigi's Flying Tires will close as our favorite Fiat departs for a vacation in his home country of Italy to visit with family," Disney said on its blog.

The ride will be replaced by a new attraction, which is set to open in early 2016.

Luigi's Flying Tires had been at Disney California Adventure since Cars Land opened in 2012.
