CONCORD, Calif. -- A Concord dog park is accepting canine visitors again next week after a period of maintenance shut the popular amenity down, according to city officials.
The Newhall Dog Park at 1351 Newhall Parkway is being reopened Thursday. It was closed in March for the park's turf areas to be aerated, seeded, fertilized and top-dressed with organic mulch, city officials said.
The initial closure came after the city's other dog park, Baldwin Dog Park at 2700 Parkside Circle, reopened after similar work was completed there.
Concord's dog parks are the most visited amenities in the city's park system, according to city officials.
