Facebook offers employees $10,000 to move closer to work

MENLO PARK, Calif. (KGO) -- As a way to ease the cost of housing, Facebook is offering its employees $10,000 to move closer to the office.

To get the one-time bonus, workers have to buy or rent a place within 10 miles of the Menlo Park headquarters.

For families with kids, the bonus can be as much as $15,000.

Many employees at Facebook, and other Silicon Valley companies, live in San Francisco and take shuttles to the office.
