FAIRFIELD, Calif. (KGO) -- Police are holding a 32-year-old man in connection with sexual assaults on four young girls between the ages of 10 and 12 in Fairfield and Suisun City last month.
Fairfield police arrested Gabriel Ostolaza at his home Thursday night. Officers were first alerted to a report that a man had groped the two young girls on Oct. 30, one at a Party City store, and another across the street at a Halloween Spirit store.
"They learned that an adult male had intentionally placed his hands on the buttocks of at least two children that were approximately 10 years of age," said Fairfield police Sgt. Jeff Osgood.
Investigators quickly learned of another assault with the same motive at the nearby Michael's store on Oct. 14. And it wasn't just in Fairfield. On Oct. 23, a 12-year-old girl shopping with her mom at the Dollar Tree store in neighboring Suisun city suffered a similar assault.
"At some point while they were inside the store, the male subject went up and grabbed the buttocks of the child," said Suisun City police Cmdr. Andrew White.
Investigators in both cities say the evidence began to pile up and point straight at Ostolaza.
"Part of it was a vehicle description, part of it was information from witnesses, and part of it was information obtained from security cameras," White said.
Fairfield police say this is the first time Ostolaza has appeared on their radar although he has an arrest record from Nevada. This father of a young girl is just relieved to have Ostolaza off the street.
"Just the thought that my daughter being hurt, or just watched by another person hurts me," said Fairfield resident Kevin Rojas.
Officers are afraid there may be more victims out there. Anyone who knows if the suspect is connected to any other crimes is asked to call police.
The suspect is being held in Solano County Jail on $775,000 bail.
