Fremont police investigate an officer-involved shooting
Investigators are looking into an officer-involved shooting in Fremont, according to a spokeswoman for the Fremont Police Department.

FREMONT, Calif. -- Two police officers shot a man after he allegedly chased his roommate with a knife during a domestic disturbance in Fremont Monday evening, according to police.

Officers were dispatched to the 4700 block of Baffin Avenue at 6:52 p.m. after a woman called to report that her male roommate had threatened her and another female victim with a knife.

The suspect had also chased the victims, who fled. At the time of the call, the woman said the suspect was on the porch holding the knife, according to police.

Officers arrived on-scene at 6:56 p.m., where they were reportedly confronted by the suspect in the front yard. Two officers opened fire, striking the suspect, who was transported to a hospital according to police.

Fremont police are investigating Monday night's shooting, and they say the Alameda County District Attorney's Office has been notified.

Further details about the suspect and his current condition were not immediately available.
