SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- City workers are putting the finishing touches to a rainbow crosswalk in San Francisco's Castro district Wednesday morning.
It's part of an $8 million project to improve the neighborhood.
The sidewalks are being widened and repaved, new lights are being added and trees planted along the street.
It will be the home of the Rainbow Honor Walk with plaques of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender heroes and heroines.
It's scheduled to be finished next month.
