BERKELEY, Calif. (KGO) -- Former San Francisco Giants infielder Jeff Kent is giving back to women's athletics at the University of California Berkeley.
Kent attended UC Berkeley in the late 80s and went on to play 17 seasons in the big leagues.
He is donating more than $530,000.
The money will provide one full scholarship each year for a female athlete chosen from soccer, softball, tennis, track or cross country.
The university will recognize Kent for his generosity during halftime of the Bears' football game this Saturday.
