US doctors, hospitals raised hundreds of false alarms about Ebola cases

ATLANTA (KGO) -- A new report on Ebola finds U.S. doctors and hospitals raised hundreds of false alarms about possible cases.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention findings released Friday found only one in five calls even warranted additional investigation.

In most cases, it turned out the patient had not traveled to an Ebola affected country or had any contact with an Ebola patient.

Health officials say they had no problem with all the nervous phone calls.
