1 dead, 1 critically injured in Hwy 37 collision near Novato

NOVATO, Calif. (KGO) -- One person died and another suffered major, life-threatening injuries in a four-vehicle collision on eastbound state Highway 37 near Novato Thursday afternoon, CHP Officer Andrew Barclay said.

The crash happened around 3 p.m. just east of Atherton Avenue, according to Barclay.

The critically injured person was flown by helicopter to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries, Barclay said.

Another victim had minor injuries, but did not have to be transported.

CHP is investigating the cause.
