SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The National Fair Housing Alliance and Fair Housing of Marin are charging Bank of America with maintaining and marketing bank owned foreclosures in white neighborhoods better than African American and Latino neighborhoods.

The complaint filed with the Department of Housing and Urban Development says this discrimination is taking place in 41 cities nationwide, including Vallejo.

It said the properties in predominantly minority neighborhoods had excessive trash, unsecured locks and overgrown lawns.

Bank of America called the charges inaccurate and misleading and says it is committed to investing in the communities it serves.

Other cities previously named in the original complaint filed in 2012 were Oakland, Richmond and Concord.
