BUFFALO, NY -- A New York woman who was reportedly driving around with a cardboard license plate wasn't fooling the cops.
Deputies with the Erie County Sheriff's Office pulled over Amanda Schweickert, 28, on Wednesday for driving without a front license plate and one on the back that was clearly a fake.
Once they had her stopped, deputies discovered Schweickert was operating the vehicle with a suspended registration and no insurance.
Schweickert was arrested and charged with possessing a forged instrument, which is a felony. She's also facing a misdemeanor count of operating a vehicle with a suspended registration and three vehicle and traffic infractions.
The fake plate was taken into evidence.
Bail has been set at $400.
