Colin Kaepernick visits Alcatraz for Indigenous People's Sunrise Gathering on Thanksgiving

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Colin Kaepernick visited Alcatraz Island on Thanksgiving to show his support at the Indigenous People's Sunrise Gathering.

The event honors those who participated in the 19-month occupation of Alcatraz where many indigenous peoples attempted to enforce the Treaty of Fort Laramie.

The former San Francisco 49er took to Twitter to share a video of his experience and why he decided to attend the gathering.
