SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Merriam-Webster reported that lookups for the word "misogyny" spiked 10,042 percent over the hourly average on May 2.
This was following an interview with Hillary Clinton by CNN's Christiane Amanpour, who asked, "Why do you think you lost the majority of the white female vote? Did misogyny play a role in the loss?"
While Clinton didn't use the word in her response, she said, "Yes, there are many, many representations of that, many kinds of examples of that, and yes, it was a role in this election."
