NASA releases satellite images of California drought

NASA released satellite images that show the dramatic loss of water storage in California.

The colors in the images progress from green to orange to red and the changes can be seen from 2002 to 2008 to 2014.

The Sacramento and San Joaquin river basins have sustained the greatest losses.
