Possible meth lab discovered at Jack London Square hotel

OAKLAND, Calif. -- An Oakland fire hazardous materials crew was dispatched today to a Jack London Square hotel where a possible methamphetamine lab was discovered, police and fire officials said.



Suspicious smoke at the Jack London Inn at 444 Embarcadero West was reported at 11:37 a.m., according to the fire department.



Firefighters responded and discovered a possible meth lab there, police said. A hazmat crew was called to the area and surrounding streets have been shut down for the investigation.



One person was taken to a hospital. The extent of their injuries was not immediately disclosed.
