SANTA CLARA, Calif. (KGO) -- Santa Clara County Sheriff's deputies are raising money to help pay for the medical bills of a dog named Charlie who was hit by a VTA light rail train while trying to cross the tracks with his owner Monday night.
The owner wasn't injured, but he can't afford Charlie's medical bills.
The officers were told that without treatment, the dog will have to be euthanized. The dog is being held at United Veterinary Specialty and Emergency in South San Jose.
