SANTA CLARA, Calif. (KGO) -- Santa Clara County Sheriff's deputies are raising money to help pay for the medical bills of a dog named Charlie who was hit by a VTA light rail train while trying to cross the tracks with his owner Monday night.

The owner wasn't injured, but he can't afford Charlie's medical bills.
