SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Police in South San Francisco are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Thursday night.
Officers responded at 10:18 p.m. to a residence at 628 Hemlock Ave. on a report two men were fighting inside the house.
Officers arrived, and one of the men came out the front door and brandished a handgun at a responding officer, police said.
The officer shot the man, who then retreated back into the residence, police said.
The man was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
There were no other injuries in the shooting, police said.
A joint investigation into the incident is being conducted by the South San Francisco Police Department and the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office.
