San Francisco start-up offers fully paid parental leave ahead of new law

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A San Francisco start-up is becoming one of the first companies in the city to offer fully-paid parental leave before it's required by law.

Managed by Q is holding a press conference at its Brannan Street headquarters to announce the offer.

It's making the announcement ahead of Mother's Day this weekend and is calling on other San Francisco companies to do the same.

The city's new parental leave law officially takes effect in January.
