19-year-old dead after shooting incident in North Richmond

RICHMOND, Calif. -- A 19-year-old man died Friday night after he was shot in North Richmond, according to sheriff's officials.



Around 7:45 p.m., deputies responded to a report of shots fired near the corner of Fifth Streets and Grove Avenue, sheriff's officials said.



Upon arrival, deputies found a man suffering from a gunshot wound on the sidewalk. He was taken to Kaiser Medical Center in Richmond and then airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he was later pronounced dead, according to sheriff's officials.



The victim's identity has not been released.



A short while later deputies received a call of a second shooting victim at Kaiser Medical Center. The victim, a 23-year-old man, has since been treated and released at the hospital.
