SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- San Jose's city council Tuesday is considering an appeal to stop a controversial homeless housing project.
The meeting comes on the heels of an abrupt reversal by a city councilman who once supported the project.
Tam Nguyen now opposes the 162-unit complex on Senter and Tully roads.
Nguyen says the project doesn't have enough safeguards, but others contend he gave in to immense public pressure.
The planning commission unanimously approved the project permit in April.
