Authorities investigate shooting near EB I-80 in Richmond

RICHMOND, Calif. (KGO) -- Authorities are investigating a shooting death near Hilltop Drive and the on-ramp to Eastbound Interstate 80.

CHP officers responded to a call around 12:30 a.m. of a body found on the road.

They say the Hispanic male in his 30s had been shot several times.

"It's still early on in the investigation and so they're still processing the evidence and we're still trying to piece things together as to exactly what happened," said CHP Officer with the Golden Gate Division John Fransen.

The CHP is asking anyone with information to contact the Golden Gate Division.
