Carquinez Bridge toll plaza undergoes emergency repair work Monday

VALLEJO, Calif. (KGO) -- There will be more delays than usual if your commute takes you on the Carquinez Bridge in Vallejo on Monday.

Emergency repair work began near the toll plaza Monday morning. Crews closed the three eastbound lanes on Interstate 80 near the toll plaza.

Caltrans says most of the damage is below the road surface. It should take them several more hours to finish repaving.

All lanes are expected to reopen around 2 p.m.
