OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Firefighters have contained a 4-alarm fire at 24th and Valdez Street at a building under construction in Uptown Oakland. Here's what areas should be avoided and information about support for fire victims.



Road closures:



Grand Avenue is closed to traffic at Valdez Street.






Other closures:



The Oakland Downtown YMCA has been closed due to the fire and will reopen at 2 p.m.



Evacuation center:



An evacuation center has been set up at the Cathedral of Christ the Light at 2121 Harrison Street.



Also, people can find shelter and other assistance from the Red Cross at the St. Vincent de Paul Community Center at 2272 San Pablo Avenue.



Farley's East coffee shop on Grand Ave. is showing support for the victims and giving them a place to gather.
