BERKELEY, Calif. -- University of California police are looking for a suspect in an armed robbery that took place Friday evening on campus, police said Saturday.

Officers got a call around 6:56 p.m. reporting an armed robbery on the southwest side of Wheeler Hall, a building near the center of campus.

Two students, both men, were walking to Wheeler when a man approached them, police said. The man pulled a gun out of his waistband and told the victim to drop his laptop, according to police.

The victim complied and fled into Wheeler Hall. Police searched the area but couldn't find the suspect.

The suspect is described as 20 to 25 years old, around five feet eight inches tall and around 140 pounds, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and dark shoes.

Campus police ask anyone with information to call the department's criminal investigation bureau at (510) 642-0472 during business hours and (510) 642-6760 at other times.
