7 On Your Side finds mattresses for tired Valley Fire evacuees

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- 7 On Your Side's Michael Finney and a team of experts went to the Valley Fire evacuation center in Calistoga to offer evacuees assistance on avoiding scams and getting the help they need.

And while they were there, an ABC7 News viewers brought to their attention a group of very tired older women in need of just one simple addition -- a mattress on top of their cots so they could sleep better at night.

Michael Finney went looking for some but found there weren't many mattresses left in Napa Valley -- but there were still two in Calistoga. The mattresses were taken back to the ABC7 News pop-up tent, inflated, and carried through the camp back to the women.

The surprise delivery brought some back relief -- and some tears of gratitude.
