SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Airbnb has just responded to a lawsuit, filed by a New Mexico woman who claims one of the service's hosts sexually assaulted her.
The woman filed the suit in San Francisco Superior Court Thursday. She claims the host assaulted her in Los Angeles last year.

Her lawsuit accuses Airbnb of creating a "false sense of security for its renters" and failing to perform background checks on its hosts.
Airbnb removed that host from its program and issued a statement saying: "The abhorrent behavior described has no place in our community and we will not tolerate it."
