Brock Turner released from prison, heads to Mountain View hotel
It appears Brock Turner went to a hotel in Mountain View after his release from Santa Clara County Jail Friday morning.

SAN JOSE Calif. (KGO) -- After serving three months in jail for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman on Stanford University's campus, Brock Turner was released from the Santa Clara County Jail on Friday.

It took about 20 seconds for Turner to exit the lobby door, go down the steps and hop into a waiting SUV.

An arm wrapped around him and pulled him inside and, like that, his controversial jail sentence was behind him.

During his short stint in jail, outrage over his sentencing has changed the fate of just about everyone who has touched the case.

The three months he served was not enough for Santa Clara County Sheriff, Laurie Smith.

She supports a bill waiting for Governor Brown's signature, which requires prison time for anyone convicted of sexually assaulting an unconscious person.

"It's a felony, it's a rape. Six months where you only do three is not correct. It's not right," Smith said.

After leaving jail, it appears Turner went to a hotel in Mountain View with his mother.

Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith answered questions about Brock Turner's time in jail and his release on Friday.

An employee came out and said Turner is no longer there and asked the media to leave. When ABC7 News talked to the hotel manager, he said that he had a guest by the name of Turner checked in and that guest has since checked out.

Because of privacy, he would not say how long the guest was here.

Turner was living in Ohio with his parents prior to the trial, so it is presumed that is where he will be returning.

If he leaves California and goes back to his home state of Ohio, he will have to register there.

His parole supervision will also take place in Ohio as well.

He isn't expected to stay long in California.

If he waits longer than 72 hours, he's required to meet with his probation officer here, since he'll be on probation for the next three years.
