Santa Clara escapee Rogelio Chavez captured in San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- Santa Clara County Sheriff's confirm that they have captured escaped Santa Clara inmate Rogelio Chavez in San Jose.

Officials say he was found in a home in San Jose with known associates and was transported back to Santa Clara to reenter police custody.

The manhunt for Chavez ended shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday night.

Chavez is one of four convicts who escaped Santa Clara County Jail on the day before Thanksgiving. Fellow escaped prisoner Laron Campbell was captured in Antioch Tuesday evening.

A source told the ABC7 News I-team that hacksaw blades were found in the cell of the escapees, but the sheriff's office could not confirm at this time.
