Penguins build nests out of Valentine's Day hearts

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Penguins at the California Academy of Sciences were given hearts to build their nests.

Every year handlers give out hearts to the African Penguins on Valentine's Day.

It's a part of the "species survival plan" to grow the African Penguin population, which is considered endangered.
