Police in Antioch ask for help investigating shooting death

ANTIOCH, Calif. (KGO) -- Police are asking the public for help investigating the case of a man they say was shot to death on Empire Mine Road near Deer Valley Road in Antioch early this morning.

Officers responded to a call of a man down on the roadway around 2:27 a.m. and found the man in the roadway suffering with injuries consistent with being shot with a firearm, police said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
