PARIS (KGO) -- An iconic pedestrian bridge in the heart of Paris that's famous for its tens of thousands of attached padlocks is falling down.
The Ponts des Arts links both sides of the Seine near the Louve. Tourists and locals have been attaching locks to the sides of the bridge since 2008 to symbolize the unbreakable bond of love.
The bond may be everlasting, but the wooden bridge sure isn't. The weight of all the metal locks caused a section of the bridge to collapse into the Seine. It's been closed to pedestrians until they can reinforce portions of the popular attraction.
