SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The Giants just arrived in Kansas City for the World Series and they'll face the Royals Tuesday night.

The team will spend Monday preparing for Tuesday's game. Pitcher Madison Bumgarner will start Game 1 against the Royals on Tuesday at 5:07 p.m.

The team seemed to be very relaxed as they boarded the bus for the airport Sunday.

Fans crowded behind orange fences hoping for a moment with their heroes. Hunter Pence obliged with a couple of quick autographs.

Juan Gutierrez screeched into the parking lot with his family, then he had to run back for his daughter's forgotten backpack. Other than that, things went off without a hitch.

Even manager Bruce Bochy seemed relaxed.

"He looked fantastic and ambitious, really healthy and happy," Giants fan Erika Pitton said.

"I'm going to the game on Saturday, but this just gives such a human touch to it," Giants fan Alan Hershman said.

His game four ticket cost $800.

"It's worth it because it's on the bucket list of things to do and you can't replace the excitement of this," he added.

Former Giants president Peter Magowan has seen every inning of the Kansas City Royals playoff run. He anticipates a great world series.

"To think of the 10 teams in the playoffs, we and the Royals ranked 9th and 10th as far as Las Vegas was concerned, here we are in the World Series," Magowan said. "That's pretty exciting."

This caps off an amazing run for both teams which entered the playoffs as wild cards. The Giants breezed through the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Washington Nationals, and the St. Louis Cardinals. And the Royals had their own epic run, most recently sweeping the Baltimore Orioles.

Speaking of sweep, the last time the Giants faced the Royals in August, they swept the Giants in a three-game series. But this is October and the Giants have proven they can play October baseball.
