SAN LEANDRO, Calif. -- Police are asking for the public's help in identifying four suspects allegedly involved in a shooting outside a mall in San Leandro on Monday morning.

Officers responded at 10:40 a.m. to the Bayfair Center mall at 15555 E. 14th St. in response to a shooting in the parking lot near a Fresh Choice restaurant, according to San Leandro police.

Police said a man was shot in the leg and was transported to the hospital.

Witnesses told investigators the suspects fled the scene in a silver or gray SUV.

Police said the shooting occurred after an argument between the suspects and the victim and surveillance footage from the scene showed four suspects involved in the incident.

The second suspect is described as a black man between 18 and 25 years old with a stocky build, a round face and who was wearing a baseball cap, a long-sleeve red and gray striped shirt and blue jeans, according to police.

The third suspect is described as a white woman between 18 and 25 years old with a thin build, shoulder-length brown hair, multiple tattoos and who was wearing a white tank top and blue jeans.

The fourth suspect is described as a white woman between 18 and 25 years old who was wearing a long-sleeve gray hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

Police said the suspects might have known or at least been familiar with the victim.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspects is being asked to call the San Leandro Police Department at (510) 577-3230 or the department's anonymous tip line at (510) 577-3278.
