SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Congresswoman Jackie Speier, D-San Mateo, stopped by ABC7 on Friday to present longtime ABC7 News Anchor Cheryl Jennings with the high honor of recognizing her work in the Congressional Record.
Speier: "You know it tells your life story, which truly I think is a model for women in particular..."
Jennings: "Don't make me cry!"
Speier: "... who want careers in journalism. And I take special note in saying I am proud to know you and call you friend."
The congresswoman said it's the highest honor she could give Cheryl for all her dedicated work to journalism and the Bay Area community through the years.

Cheryl will be stepping away from the ABC7 News anchor desk after Friday night to focus on special projects in the community and overseas.
