Many of the recipients have been impacted by the North Bay wildfires.
More than 100 frozen turkeys and boxes with all the good stuff went to needy families for the holiday season.
Salvation Army of Marin County sponsored the annual turkey giveaway. The charity knows that making ends meet in the pricey Bay Area is a struggle for many.
"Nowadays it's hard in this economy. This is a good thing," said San Rafael resident Erika Dominguez.
The North Bay wildfires touched many families.
"I have friends and family up there," said San Rafael resident Tanya Hall, who took in relatives who were displaced by the fires. "I'm a single mom, doing it all on my own."
"It's a trying time for families in Sonoma and Marin -- being so close, we went through hardship for them," said Larry Carmichael of the Salvation Army.
Sometimes it's the little things that make a holiday so special.
