SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- This year marks a special anniversary for an organization that's brightened one of San Francisco's most recognized neighborhoods.
Precita Eyes muralists have spent 40 years creating works of art, using the Mission District as its canvas. Since 1977, neighbors have asked the organization to lead everyday people in creating murals that speak for a diverse community.
"So it amazes me that we continue to do this after 40 years," said Susan Cervantes of Precita Eyes Mural Arts Centers. "This kind of experience is really important ... to have something to do together and make beautiful (art) in their community."
