Play was stopped at a college softball game in Lynchburg, Virginia, when a large dust devil developed near second base.

The Lynchburg Hornets and Bridgewater Eagles were in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday, March 16, when the whirlwind interrupted play. Players covered their faces while the dust devil traveled across the diamond toward first base.

No players were injured during the dust devil, which lasted about 30 seconds. Play continued after the whirlwind dissipated.
