Oakland Athletics host 18th annual Root Beer Float Day

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- The Oakland Athletics kicked off their 18th annual Root Beer Float Day on Tuesday.



They helped players serve up sweet treats at the Oakland Coliseum.



Proceeds go to the team's community fund.



Sugar-free root beer and ice cream will be available.



Root Beer Float Day has raised more than $486,000 since it started in 2003.



ABC7 News Meteorologist Mike Nicco and Weather Anchor Spencer Christian attended the fundraiser and lent a helping hand.
