Stanford to turn on fountains for graduation despite drought
STANFORD, Calif. (KGO) -- Stanford has decided to turn on its fountains for commencement, despite the drought.
The fountains were shut down and drained over a year ago.

Sixty thousand gallons of water will be used to enhance commencement, according to the university.
The fountains will be deactivated the day after the ceremony.
The water will then be stored and used to water trees on campus.
