It was an emotional sight on Southern California roads Sunday, as hundreds turned out to honor slain firefighter Cory Iverson.

An autopsy showed Iverson died from thermal injuries and smoke inhalation.

The 32-year-old is survived by his 2-year-old daughter and his wife, Ashley, who's expecting their second child.

Five-year-old Faye's initial donation of $7 has turned into over $8,500 for firefighter families.

Iverson had been with Cal Fire since 2009. A GoFundMe account for the Iverson family can be found here.

The colossal Thomas Fire, which straddled coastal Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, broke out Dec. 4. It is the largest wildfire recorded in modern California history.
