BART closing some East Bay stations for track work

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- This weekend marks the first of five weekend closures for BART in parts of Oakland to allow crews to do track maintenance.

The Lake Merritt station will close completely all day Saturday and Sunday.

Buses will be available to get passengers between the Fruitvale and 19th Street stations.

BART says it could add 20 to 40 minutes to travel times.
