Vallejo Police investigating suspicious fire that killed twin girls, woman

VALLEJO, Calif. (KGO) -- Three people died early Sunday morning in a house fire on Georgia Street in Vallejo that police consider suspicious.

The smell of smoke and a taint of foul play still linger outside the partially burned home.

"It is horrible how they died. This is not what they deserved," said Angelo Galvez, a friend of 14-year-old twins Trinh and Tram Tran, who died in the house with presumably their mother, when it caught fire early Sunday morning.

Vallejo police and fire have been investigating intensely ever since.

"It appears to be intentional, suspicious in nature, but I am not going into details," said Vallejo Police Captain Lee Horton.

"Would that make this a murder case?" we asked. "We are investigating as a homicide, yes," Horton said.

If police have a suspect or motive, they are not saying, but friends of the girls told us there had been household strife, recently.

"Yeah there were problems but I can't give it out," said Kyla Viray, who had a difficult time, today, balancing the pain of the twins loss with her joy from their memories.

"Like when you hung out with them you would have that aura of happiness around them. Laughing and happy and, yeah."

That is tough to deal with at 14. Tough at any age.

"We had to honor them with flowers here. We miss them a lot," said Angelo Galvez.

"We were like sisters. Sisters," added Kyl
