SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Opponents to the proposed Golden State Warriors arena in San Francisco's Mission Bay have filed a lawsuit seeking to block the proposed location of the project.
The lawsuit was filed by Mission Bay Alliance and the mother of a patient at UCSF Children's Hospital. It argues that city officials violated the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) by not properly considering alternative locations for the arena and by failing to adequately address the project's environmental impacts, such as traffic, air quality, and noise.
In a statement, opponents also said that parents fear that game time traffic to the arena, which is located 1,000 feet from the hospital, could block life-saving care.
