Takeaway of the Day
The Bay Area is still under a Red Flag Warning for high fire danger until 7 a.m. tomorrow. We are experiencing steady offshore winds ranging 20-30 miles per hour, with gusts to more than 50 miles per hour. Relative humidity remains dangerously low - lower than 15% in some areas. Under these conditions, fires may develop and spread rapidly.
The Look Ahead
As the Red Flag Warning expires tomorrow morning, we can expect winds to diminish significantly through the afternoon and evening hours, and relative humidity will increase overnight tomorrow night and into the weekend. The weekend will bring increasing clouds, chances of showers, and a noticeable cooldown -- which will also diminish the chance of fire.
