Takeaway of the Day
This damp and drizzly day is giving way to quiet weather conditions tonight. There may be a few light, scattered showers in the North Bay tonight, but measurable rain has tapered off for most of the remainder of the Bay Area until after midnight.
HIGH SURF ADVISORY through 4 a.m. Sunday. Large breaking waves of 20-30 feet are expected along the pacific coast.
The Look Ahead
During the overnight hours, steadier and heavier rain will develop first in the North Bay, but it will spread across the entire area during the morning hours. This rain will be accompanied by strong, gusty winds--generally between 20 and 30 miles per hour. This is a Level 1 storm on the exclusive ABC7 Storm Impact Scale. Rain will taper off by early afternoon and winds will diminish significantly. The day will end with at least partly sunny skies. We can expect a string of dry days as 2024 winds down and as 2025 begins.
