International Space Station visible from Bay Area skies

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The International Space Station raced across the Bay Area sky Monday evening.

Traveling more than 17,000 miles per hour and 250 miles above the surface of Earth, the Station looked like a star to the naked eye, rising in the southwest horizon at 5:46 p.m. and was visible for 5 minutes.

Your next chance to catch the space Station will be Tuesday evening.

Look toward the western horizon at 6:31 p.m. It will be visible for 2 minutes before disappearing in the northwestern horizon.
